ABOUT CAF WITS

The Christian Action Fellowship was fundamentally founded on biblical principles in 1986. The Christian Action Fellowship believes in the redemption for our sins and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and that Jesus is Lord and the Messiah. The Christian Action Fellowship aims at showing the highest level of commitment to the faith, the organisation and the individual.

The first CAF generation saw an immense duty to win students to Christ and raise a powerful Christian profile as many students were caught up with the academic syndrome. This generation sought to be relevant to students who wanted to be academically successful and were faced with the challenges of Apartheid and the liberation movement going on at the time. They were faced with the greatest challenge of demystifying the stigma that a saved Christian cannot be involved in the struggle against apartheid.

This generation is said to have had powerful characteristics because they loved and feared the Lord. They out great emphasises on academic success as a means to bring down the stigma against ‘Abazwalane’ and because of their priority to serve the Kingdom of God, God was gracious to them and they succeed in their studies just as it is written in Daniel 1:17 “To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds. In their time they managed to link CAF to other campuses and such as the Hospital Christian Fellowship.
